Body Found Floating at Ranadi

Honiara Police Forensic Officers are investigating the circumstances surrounding a female body found floating at the Ranadi dumpsite sea front yesterday morning.

The deceased who is a 33-year old woman, was discovered by people living around the Ranadi area yesterday at 9am, floating some 10 meters away from the dumpsite sea front at Ranadi.

The deceased was last seen struggling in the sea by a friend who was unable to help. The friend only called for assistance but was too late.

Police Forensic Officers, who have been working with the medical authorities to establish the cause of death, allegedly indicated that the deceased's medical history of epilepsy disorder may have been the cause while she was in the waters.

Currently, the Police investigation carried out on the circumstances of the incident proved that there were no signs of injury to the deceased body during medical examination and Police findings.

The deceased had been with the safe hands of relatives for burial after a medical examination yesterday afternoon.

Police have closed its investigation on the matter.
