"We are currently making a lousy $45 Million dollars annually from our tuna industry" Mr Sogavare said. "According to experts we should be making at least $3 Billion dollars annually"Mr Sogavare revealed that the government is currently making arrangements with the Philippines to bring fishing boats into the country. "We will start with at least five boats and see how it goes" Sogavare said. "If we are satisfied we are intending to bring at least 50 fishing boats into the country"Mr Sogavare went on to say that all the boats will be operated by Solomon Islanders identified through a strenuous process. "Solomon Islanders will do the fishing; catches will then be sold to the processing plants" Mr Sogavare said.
