The Solomon Islands Basketball Federation has announced an opportunity for a Solomon Island business or person to have naming rights for the National Mens Basketball Team.

The Men's National Basketball Team will be representing Solomon Islands at this month's South Pacific Games in Samoa. The team has been training since 8th January this year, and includes USA based player and 3 point specialist Waige Turueke.

Having completed a tour of Australia with a record of 5 wins and 1 loss, the team is ready for the SPG. The team played a series of Senior Men's State League Teams, the same standard as at the South Pacific Games.

"The tour was great for us, and it showed that our training has paid off. I think we have proven that we are a serious threat in Samoa," said Waige Turueke.

"We are really looking for a naming rights sponsor for the games. These players have been training their hearts out for the past 7 months, and we have firmed ourselves as medal contenders. A sponsor at this stage will be just what we need to give us the edge over the other countries," said Coach Ryan Burns.
