The Australian Prime Minister, Kevin Rudd will be in Solomon Islands to pay a one-day visit to Honiara on Saturday, 7th march 2008.

A traditional welcome will be given to Mr. Rudd as well as a guard of honor when he arrives at the Henderson International Airport on Saturday morning.

Among the delegation to welcome Prime Minister will be his Solomon Islands counterpart, Dr. Derek Sikua, Solomons Foreign Minister, William Haomae and his Permanent Secretary, Barnabas Anga and the Australian High Commissioner to Solomon Islands, Peter Hooton.

Following the guard of honor at the Henderson airport, Mr. Rudd will visit the Australian High Commission's Office before having a joint meet with his counterpart.

The two Prime Ministers will have some talks on that day, but the likely issues to be raised are still unknown.

According to the Prime Minister's Office, Mr. Rudd will also be having talks with members of Dr. Sikua's Cabinet in the Cabinet Conference Room later that day.
