The Solomon Islands Football Federation (SIFF) President, Martin Alufurai has been appointed member of the OFC Finance Committee at the weekend in Auckland, New Zealand.

The SIFF President was attending the OFC executive meeting when his appointment was made.

The committee is headed by President of Papua New Guinea Football Association, Mr. David Chung as chairman. The other members are; New Caledonia Football Federation President, Claude Fournier (Vice Chairman), Cook Islands Football Association president, Lee Harmon (member) and SIFF President, Martin Alufurai (member).

The committee is tasked to perform the following duties; scrutinize OFC budget proposals and make recommendations to OFC Executive, for competitions, development projects and other OFC activities.

Alufurai said the set up is similar to FIFA and he is confident his membership will give greater recognition to Solomon Islands as a force in soccer in the region.
