Dear Editor,

I agree with James Bong on our limited knowledge on cannabis that seem to shape our confrontational approach into it. The "Burden of Disease" due to alcohol is far, far greater than that due to cannabis or other illicit drugs worldwide. However, the arrays of uncertainty over scientific knowledge are also largely not steady; and many advocates of the drug are simply moulded into so-called human rights to wage the debate from another angle. We lack sound data in our poor country, hence, quantifying any association would be too embryonic at this stage. I agree the state needs to address it but how it should be done is pretty uncertain yet.
