Royal visit to Solomon Islands

Is it still intended that the proposed New Constitution of the Solomon Islands will remove the Queen as Head of State, and break this long-standing link with U.K?
The recent visit by the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester (representing the Queen) appears to have been a great success, yet I can see no mention in your reporting of these constitutional proposals.
