Our Sinking Islands

I agree with Steve and the other contributors to this discussion that our beloved islands are sinking, especially the low lying ones. The contributor's insight into the causes and effects of this global phenomena has provided us with informed information to at least know that global warming is a major threat to many of our peoples' survival. In addition to Lake Tenggano, there are other islands through out Solomon Islands that are affected by sea level rise.

These experiences should now be used to help formulate a a national initiative in addressing this slow but distractive phenomena. The communities, provincial governments and the national government should all work together to set up a strategy for addressing the problem before it is too late.
