Vandalized Japanese war memorial statue on Mt. Austin

We are doing research on WW2 and learned of a Japanese War memorial at Mount Austin. In research we found the article from your newspaper dated January 23, 2008 regarding removal of the statue from the memorial due to vandalism. Do you have or know of online any photos of the war memorial statue. From our understanding of this war memorial the statue was quite unusual.

Any help or guidance you could offer would be deeply appreciated.

Warmest Regards
