Daylight Thieves

Dear editor,

The recent issue of warning for the Asian logger instead of taking legal actions against it is really a WORST response in times where the nation is trying to do away with corruption.

This was seen as negligence and abuse of the legal procedures and regulations in the Forest Act. Dear Mr Minister of Forests and the PS as well as your field officers, the public now wants to hear an explanation from you as to why such action is taken instead of prosecuting them as was clearly outlined within the laws of Solomon Islands.

If people who are involved do not have the competency to perform government functions in the interest of this country and the resource owners, then please do walk away from the office and allow those who are willing to serve faithfully to serve.

Good job Transparency International for a job well done. I hope the PM would also like to make a statement on this that would serve as an explanation on behalf of his ruling government.
