It is wonderful to see this news. I would ask the media one question, though:
The Solomons has over twenty years of experience with small fisheries projects. Has no one studied them?
I ask this because we all feel that yes, such projects help, but does the evidence support that feeling? And because there is a competition for development assistance. What are the most effective ways to support local fisheries? Local economies? SICHE has faculty and students who might benefit from undertaking such studies.
Will the media help to lead us to the better understanding that such research can provide?
